e)      What is your impression about a hortal day?

Hortal means a kind of strike that puts a ban on any kind of work and movement of vehicles on the road. Political parties and other organizations to meet their demands usually call it. In our
country, hartal has become a strategy of the political parties to give pressure on the ruling government. During the hoartal period, the organizing party or parties hold protests, meetings, rallies etc. the political activists block all types of vehicles. Even they are found to beat drivers, shopkeepers and passers-by. Sometimes the furious picketers set vehicles on fire that causes death and injury of the passengers. Besides, due to hartal the wheel of economy ceases to move. Mills, factories, industries and other manufacturing nits remain closed. As a result, there is tremendous shortage of production and the authorities fall in great trouble to pay the salary of the workers. The greatest effect of hartal falls on the academic activities of the educational institutions. Students cannot go to ther classes and their academic progress is seriously disturbed. Thus, the entire activities of the country cease to halt and the prices of all commodities go up. As a result, the sufferings of the common people know no bound.
